DutchGrown Flower Bulb Collections: Less Hassle, More Joy

Choices, choices, choices… Coffee with or without creamer? Decaf or regular? Cable or Netflix? What movie shall we watch? Your parents or mine for the holidays? This book or that? Yoga or fitness?

Having choices can give you a sense of freedom, of control over your life, maybe even of adventure. But sometimes the endless options before you can start to feel overwhelming and make you wish that someone else would do the choosing for you for a change.

Easier choices

DutchGrown proudly sells over 460 varieties of flower bulbs, and we love for you to pick & mix to your heart’s content. But we also know that at times choosing the perfect mixture of varieties for your garden can feel more daunting than fun. To make things easier for you we have created 76 flower bulb collections, where all the varieties are carefully selected to complement each other and create a beautiful and balanced garden.

Quality collections

In this post I want to highlight three of our collections. They’re all completely different, but they all contain the same trademark DutchGrown high-quality bulbs that will set your spring garden ablaze with color and life.

Eight Weeks of Daffodils

One of the first bulbs to bloom, daffodils will give you that special early-spring feeling: The first sunshine after all those cold, dark months, the first birdsong in the trees and a sense of excitement about the warm days ahead. After the long wait of winter spring is finally here and nothing will help you celebrate this precious time like daffodils do.

With our Eight Weeks of Daffodils collection you can make that lovely, hopeful feeling last a lot longer. The eight varieties we selected bloom from early to late spring and have big juicy trumpet blooms. Plant these DutchGrown quality bulbs this fall, and come blooming season they will be the perfect yellow backdrop to your flower garden.

Tulip Strawberry Fields Collection

“Let me take you down…”

You’ll be humming this song while you plant these lovely Darwin Tulip colors, and you’ll be singing it loudly once they come up in Spring. These bulbs are tall and strong Darwin Hybrids, so you know they will deliver and last. They combine the palest pink with soft white, deep red and strawberry lemonade pink to create a dreamy contrast with the green of your lawn.

The tulips from the Strawberry Fields Collection bloom in early to mid-spring and are perfect for bouquets and vases, where they will look divine while filling the air with their lovely scent.

The Butterfly Collection

This fantastic collection combines the best of two worlds: By attracting butterflies, bees and bumblebees you will not only fill your garden with summery sounds and beautifully painted wings, you will also help to save these crucial creatures. Bees and other pollinators are necessary for the fruit, flowers and vegetables that we so love, so anything we can do to make them come to our garden year in year out is good for them and for us.

The 350 flower bulbs in the Butterfly Collection contain a lot of nectar and will help you add to the biodiversity in your garden as well as your area. Each bulb in this mixture represent a tasty feast for bees and butterflies to snack on. Tulips, Muscaris, Alliums, Spanish Bluebells, Anemones and crocuses will fill your garden with wonderful aromas and beautiful colors, all the way through from February to June.
