Veronica Longifolia, also commonly known as 'Speedwells' are long-blooming and easy to grow perennials that are prized by gardeners. Their spikey, colorful flowers rise elegantly and attract butterflies. The extremely showy Veronica flowers open up from the base upwards from early to late summer. These blooms grow in clumps up to 2-4 feet high, making them a favorite for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens and meadow.
How to Grow
Light: Performs best in full sun or partial shade.
Soil: Well-draining soil that is rich and moist.
- Plant in the Spring and find a sunny spot with well-draining soil.
- Loosen the soil and mix in compost.
- Dig a hole and place the roots in the hole. Ensure that the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface.
- Water thoroughly
How to Care
- Water in the summer if there is less than 1" inch of rainfall per week.
- Cover with a thin layer of compost and a 2" inch layer of mulch to retain moisture.
- Deadhead to encourage more blooms.
