Description

Oxalis Iron Cross, commonly known as Lucky Clover, is a delightful perennial cherished for its unique four-leaf clover-shaped foliage and charming pinkish-red flowers. Native to Mexico, this plant is a symbol of good luck and an eye-catching addition to gardens, containers, and indoor spaces.

The name "Iron Cross" comes from the dark purple marking at the center of each leaf, which resembles the German military medal of the same name. Additionally, the plant's clover-like leaves make it a popular choice for St. Patrick's Day celebrations and lucky charms.
  • Foliage: The plant features distinctive green leaves divided into four segments, each with a dark purple center resembling an iron cross. This unique coloration adds texture and interest to any planting.
  • Flowers: Produces clusters of delicate, funnel-shaped, pinkish-red blooms that rise above the foliage from late spring through summer.
  • Height and Spread: Forms a compact mound, growing up to 6–10 inches tall and 8–12 inches wide.
  • Growth Habit: Low-growing and spreading, making it perfect as ground cover or for edging pathways.
