Description

Geranium Samobor, also known as Dusky Cranesbill, is a tough and hardy upright perennial that adds beauty to any garden. Its maroon flowers, slightly reflexed and with a white heart, bloom in late spring to early summer above the foliage of deeply lobed, soft green leaves. These leaves are adorned with a striking chocolate-brown band, giving the plant a stylish appearance.

One outstanding feature of this geranium variety is its leaves. They start with a cherry-black dot when they emerge and age into a large purple marking, adding to its visual interest. Another noteworthy aspect is the deep color of its plentiful flowers.

Discovered in 1990 by Elizabeth Strangman in Kent, England, Geranium Samobor is a natural variant of Geranium phaeum found growing in damp woods in Croatia. Its name is derived from the Croatian town of Samobor.

                      Planting information

                      - Dig a hole to the required depth. You can find this required depth for each type of bulb, tuber or root in the growing guides.

                      - Depth is measurement of space between the soil line and top of bulb or bare root.

                      - Set the bulbs or bare root in place, pointed side or sprout side upward.

                      - Cover the bulbs by replacing the soil and water thoroughly.
